Overview
What is a thigh lift?
A thigh lift removes excess skin and fat to smooth and firm the inner or outer thighs, improving contour and comfort — commonly after significant weight loss.
Liposuction is included to refine the contour before the skin is tightened, and Dr. Armstrong tailors the incision pattern to your anatomy and the amount of skin to be addressed.

Candidacy
Am I a candidate?
A thigh lift tends to suit patients who recognize themselves in most of the points below. The only way to know for certain is an in-person assessment, and Dr. Armstrong will confirm your candidacy at your consultation.
- Loose inner- or outer-thigh skin bothers you — often after significant weight loss
- Chafing or discomfort with activity or clothing is part of the problem
- Your weight is stable
- You are in good general health and a non-smoker (or willing to stop around surgery)
- You accept discreetly placed incisions in exchange for a smoother contour
Healing, step by step
Recovery timeline
Every patient heals at their own pace. This is the typical arc, and your personal plan and follow-ups are tailored to you.
Day 1
Home the same day in a compression garment, with a helper for the first night.
Week 1
Rest with short, gentle walks; swelling begins to settle.
Weeks 2–3
Most patients return to desk-based work as comfort improves.
Weeks 3–4
Light activity resumes; avoid friction and strenuous leg exercise while healing.
Weeks 4–6
Cleared gradually for full activity as incisions begin to fade with your scar-care plan.
